Little Life Box - July 2015

This is the second time I have gotten this box and I just love it. For $22.95 a single box or $19.95 a box for a monthly subscription you get an assortment of beauty, lifestyle, nutrition, and food samples that you can feel good about using. They are organic, fair trade, non GMO or natural products packaged and shipped in Canada for $4.95. I plan on signing up for a subscription to support this great Canadian subscription box started by a mother and daughter.

I already loved it when I saw the nautical tissue paper, how cute is that? These always come so well packed.

After peeling back the tissue these are all sitting on top, three huge items.

Ester-C Energy Boost in Pomegranate - Açai   $16.99
Emails were sent out saying that every July box was getting a box of these multi vitamin and mineral supplement individual drink mixes. I was looking for an excuse to get another box and it worked out so well. These are actually pretty good, it's a decent multivitamin and gives you a little energy boost.

Deep River Rosemary and Olive Oil Kettle Cooked Potato Chips   $2.25
I am not usually partial to kettle cooked chips but these were amazing. If I saw these in a store I would pick some up for sure. I find a lot of more natural or organic foods have sassy little descriptions, cute stories or like these chips information on a great cause.

Mrs. Crimble's Yogurt Coated Rice Cakes    $3.11
These gluten free cakes come in two packages of three and are actually pretty good. I really do not like big rice cakes like these but the yogurt makes them have a little more flavour and less dry.

Under all the big items are tones of little samples.

Bounce Energy Ball - Cacao Mint Protein Bomb   $2.34
I have tried many, many protein and energy bars; some good, other less so. This tastes like a candy bar and it has nine grams of protein which isn't too bad.

Mini Jimmy Bar in Peanut butter Clutter   $1.37
This is a "clean snack bar" the only ingredients are dates, peanut butter, crisp brown rice, peanuts, almonds and honey. That's it. No chemicals or things that are nearly impossible to pronounce. It is very similar in texture and taste to an Eatmore bar, just with bigger pieces of peanuts. The back of the bar has a cute little blurb:

Glee Gum in Bubble Gum, Peppermint, and Cinnamon   $0.50 for all four
This is a gum made with natural ingredients including chicle which is a tree sap they harvested sustainably from sapodilla trees in the rain forests of Central America. It is great tasting but the flavour does not last as long as "normal" gum.

Wow Butter   Full size: $4.27, sample value unknown
I was not sure about this at first, I love peanut butter and I am very specific about what kind I will eat so I figured this substitute would not cut it. Delicious. It almost tastes like peanut butter and would be a great substitute for kids who can not take PB in school lunches.

Téga Organic, Fair Trade Tea in Wild Berry Green Roobios and Choclate Mint Roobios   $0.58 for both
I always enjoy getting tea in different boxes, the Chocolate Mint one was delicious and I'm sure the Berry one will be as well.

Mineral Matrix Pure Dehydrated Goat Whey by St. Francis Herb Farm   $4.30 for both
This was absolutely disgusting. I might as well have gone up to a goat and licked it, might have tasted better. I do not care if it would make me a size four with flawless skin and perfect hair for the rest of my life I will never let this pass my lips again. It looks almost as bad as it tastes.
Goat Whey

VegEssential All in One Plant Based Daily Foundation in Natural Vanilla   $3.21
I have seen this protein in supplement stores before as a vegetarian option. There are 27 grams of protein per serving and overall this is a decent protein supplement, especially if you are looking for a plant based, vegetarian option.

Goddess Garden Organics Sport Sunscreen with Broad Spectrum SPF 30  $1.80  for both
Sunscreen is always a helpful thing to get in these boxes, especially the travel sized ones to throw in your purse so you always have it on hand. I carry it around at all times since Beast is so fair skinned he needs sunscreen to go get the mail. It is also something that I like having a more natural option for. This particular sunscreen is scent free, reef same, non-nano biodegradable and non GMO.

Goddess Garden Organics Sunny Body Organic Sunscreen  $3.31
This is another chemical free sunscreen from the same brand as the other packets, the main difference being that it is only water resistant for 40 minutes where the sport one is for 80 minutes.

Pure Naturally Clean Biodegradable Products in Laundy Soap and Multipurpose   $0.75 for both
The laundry soap is safe for sensitive skin and babies and can also be used as a stain remover before washing. The sample is enough for two loads in a top loading washer, 4 in an HE washer. It has a light, clean scent. I do already use natural multipurpose cleaner and I'm glad to try another, this one is quite a decent sized sample since one cap full is meant to be mixed into 2 litres of water. I haven't used it yet but I'm interested to see how effective it is.

This is certainly one of my favourite boxes, while I didn't receive any they do have skin care and hair products as well. In my opinion a product card with prices and descriptions would greatly improve this box. Since these products are not necessarily mainstream products they can be hard to find, the majority of them are on their website with links to their webpages when applicable though.

Thanks for reading!
A.
